At Ken Hubbell and Associates, it is important for us to continually educate ourselves to better serve our clients as organizational and business development consultants. In 2004, we held regular scenario planning retreats to explore the trends that we felt would most affect the United States and our clients in the next decade.

We formed the Ken Hubbell and Associates Foresight Network. This is an informal group of strategic thinkers from various organizational development consulting firms that carries out research into key forces affecting our world and helps create scenarios for the future which KHA uses with clients to examine strategic issues. Selected members of the Network also help design and facilitate strategic learning processes for groups and organizations that incorporate scenario approaches with strategic planning, leadership and organizational development and change management projects.

We are currently focused on the future of phylanthropy and the independent -- or third -- sector.

The power of this kind of network and group-exercise is not in finding a single action plan for the direction our world is moving in, but unlocking the possibilities the future may bring, and then creating the most durable strategies that can withstand any of these circumstances. This network not only provides our Associates and colleagues from various organizational development consulting firms a unique learning experience, it allows us to help our clients better understand the changing world around their businesses and organizations.
